The Co-Host for the Mays’ Denver Happy Hour is Chris Gallegos, Owner, CG Communications (Public Relations and beyond :). Chris used to office across the street from my office. We met because he helped me jump my car outside. What a great guy! Nowadays, he has been coaching me on public speaking. He performs at VooDoo lounge regularly and introduced me to Anthony (Taco) Morales..Taco is the bar manager and a past client as well. VooDoo Comedy Playhouse is a fun Improv theatre. We offer the city’s most fun and unpredictable entertainment experiences in the heart of LoDo. The Voodoo is the place to enjoy a wide variety of intriguing, original comedy; a well-stocked bar; and a unique, affordable night out that you and your friends won’t soon forget.
We have been performing in Denver since 2008, with The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show and Hit and Run: Musical Improv. Over the years, our passion for interactive, unscripted theater grew exponentially, and we realized it was time to expand our dreams and move into our own theater space. And so, after a lot of hard work and planning, the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse opened its doors on Wednesday, October 26th, 2011 for the people of Denver.
There is an amazing level of comedic talent in our city, and we are most proud to present the best shows for your approval. The intrigue and hilarity of The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show; the amazing musical and comedic prowess of Hit and Run: Musical Improv; the brilliance of Makeshift Shakespeare; the late-night unpredictability of Outside By My Fence Right Now… we consider all of our shows to be the cream of the comedy crop, with performers who are or soon will be known on the national stage.
We offer a fully-stocked bar for your enjoyment, as well as a technologically advanced theater setup to provide the ultimate in amusement. Our shows take place Wednesday through Saturday night, with karaoke on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Shows are all ages until 10:30 PM, after which the bar and theater are 21+ only.
The Dinner Detective and Hit and Run are available for private bookings, and the theater itself is available forrental.
