Denver Happy Hour @ Earls (1600 Glenarm), Wednesday May 13th, 5:30p to 7:30p

The Co-Host for Mays’ Denver Happy Hour is Ivar Zeile, Plus Gallery. I met Ivar through my friend Will Smith a few years ago. Since then, I’ve kept track of Ivar. I bump into people that know him and they constantly rave about what a great guy he is. He is talented, the ‘go to’ guy for high end art, and very involved in the community. I would consider him as one of the ‘staples’ of Downtown Denver. This month we are meeting @ Earls (1600 Glenarm)….if you haven’t been, you have to check it out. We will meet on the 2nd Floor Patio. They have these cool break open sliding glass doors that open up the second floor. Great drinks, food & ambiance… See you there, Lydia

~Fun Facts About Earls
So who exactly is Earl?Is he a real person? Is he a vegetable? A mineral? Well, he is definitely a real person. And Earl is his real name. He's Leroy Earl Fuller. Earl loves two things. Food and people. So it's no surprise that in 1954 he opened his very first restaurant to feed local farmers of Sunburst, Montana. No, it wasn't an earls restaurant, but he was on his way. In 1982, the first casual dining earls restaurant opened in Edmonton, Alberta. We were off and running! Over 20 years later, we now have 50 earls restaurants throughout Western Canada, Arizona and Colorado. And Earl is still with us as Chairman of Earls Restaurants Ltd.

~Plus Gallery is known as one of the true progressive contemporary exhibition spaces in Denver, maintaining the highest standards for artist representation and community interaction. Since opening in 2001, the gallery has built a formidable reputation as a valuable resource for the art and collector community through solo exhibitions by some of Colorado's most prestigious and forward thinking artists, as well as an ongoing experimental forum for new media. The program offers an extensive selection of works by visionary national artists and often serves as an incubator for new emerging talent. Plus Gallery collaborates with partners throughout the Denver area in order to raise the vitality of the local scene, complementing the efforts put forth at the institutional level in order to construct a more creative and dynamic community.

In 2009 Plus Gallery relocated to one of downtown Denver's most unusual and dramatic structures, the "Flue" building of the Benjamin Moore Paint complex at 2501 Larimer Street at the entrance to the River North Arts District. This singular redevelopment incorporates a two-story gallery to enhance the sophistication and quality of artwork represented.

Plus Gallery is owned and directed by Ivar Zeile, who brings a diverse background in the creative arts to the operation. The gallery has received numerous awards and acclaim, including the "Best New Gallery Space" from Westword in 2009. Plus Gallery is a member of the Denver Art Dealers Association, the River North Art District and the Lodo District. Zeile is a member of the Denver Mayor's Commission for Cultural Affairs (since 2006) and currently serves on the board of prestigious art programs including PlatteForum, the Denver Art Museum's DAM Contemporaries, and community arts incubator Redline.
